SGPC should send fact finding team to Vienna: Dal Khalsa

HOSHIARPUR: The Dal Khalsa president Harcharanjit Singh Dhami Tueday asked the SGPC to send a fact finding team comprising representatives from Sikh mainstream institutions and renowned Panthic personalities to ascertain the reasons and circumstances that led to the provocation, violent clash, firing and death of dera deputy head "Sant" Ramanand in Gurdwara.
The Vienna happening is a serious matter and should not be brushed aside under the carpet by portraying it as a "terrorist act". There is more to it than meets the eyes, said Dhami. If the credible sources in abroad are to be believed than the dera head was not showing due respect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and was requested many times by the deevotee Sikhs not to do so. "If this is true than it does not behoove well on part of the Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat and the SGPC to 'praise and eulogise' dera saints as it not only hurts the sentiments of followers of Guru Granth Sahib but also "encourages" deravad and gurudom, which is in sharp contrast to Sikh fundamental principles and philosophy.
Mr. Dhami said that instead of siding with dera sachakand ballan the SGPC needs to restrict themselves up to condemning the violent incidents and finding the reasons and root causes behind it . The Dal Khalsa appealed to jathedar Sri Akal Takhat that while issuing hukamnama the guidelines, norms and rules should also be spelt out for its implementation.
